About Shaila Patel
My passion for playing the harp began at the age of 10. I was captivated by the harp at a young age after attending numerous performances by the illustrious New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center.
I studied with the esteemed Susan Knapp Thomas for 8 years and now perform as a freelance harpist. I have performed chamber, orchestral, and solo repertoire at many venues.
My musical story took an unforgettable turn when I was privileged to secure a coveted spot in a chamber music intensive at Tenuta Di Spannochia in Tuscany. Under the mentorship of Katie Kennedy, this immersive experience, enriched by performances across Italy, left an indelible mark on my artistic journey.
I am currently based in Boston and am a student at Northeastern University. I am studying International Business and Finance, complemented by minors in Geosciences and Sustainable Business Practices. Music, however, remains the quintessence of my being, and I look forward to a life of sharing my craft with the world.
